Go to the Botanical Gardens

Places like Meadowlark Botanical Gardens is the perfect place to let your kids roam and play. Let kids be kids and quite literally “stop and smell the roses” at this beautiful shaded spot during the Spring or Summer! As an Alexandria Family Photographer, an ideal Saturday with my kids would be to start the morning at Pink and Brown shopping for our client closet or my own kids, or popping in to The Lucky Knot for myself! Only a short 30 minute drive later, we enjoy letting the kids enjoy time at the botanical gardens to see all of natures beauty.

Have kids that love to learn about our history? Enjoy an afternoon at Mount Vernon and enjoy all about George Washingtons home. Tour the mansion or even stroll through the beautiful gardens on the property! As Alexandria Family Photographers, seeing all the gardens is our favorite part! After spending the afternoon here, take a short car ride (can double as a nap car ride, LOL) to Cedar Knoll for dinner! This Idyllic restaurant offers such amazing views of the Potomac River while you enjoy dinner. Reservations are highly encouraged as this spot does fill up for dinner fast!
